Simple Fresh Pesto | Seed Oil Free Sauces and Condiments

I am more of a red-sauce person when it comes to dishes with Italian inspiration, but sometimes, the bright taste of fresh herbs and garlic in pesto just can’t be beaten! The best part is this little batch of simple, fresh pesto goes a long way!

Enjoy a few spoons full of Zucchini Noodles (click here!), Lemon Pepper Pesto (click here!) or your favorite dish!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves, packed (roughly two hand fulls)

  • 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1/3 cup of walnuts

  • 3 garlic cloves, peeled

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • In a food processor or Ninja blender, combine the basil leaves, pine nuts, and garlic cloves. Pulse until the mixture is coarsely chopped.

  • While the food processor is running, slowly pour in the olive oil in a steady stream until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

  • Add the grated Parmesan cheese and pulse a few times until just combined.

  • Taste the pesto and season with salt and pepper as needed.
